Rooted in Story. Rising in Purpose.
About Samantha Johnson, MPH, RDN, LDN
Hi! I’m Samantha- a registered dietitian with a love for public health. I have my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in nutrition from the University of Utah, and my MPH in nutrition & dietetics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I sought out a combined program in nutrition and public health because I know that health is influenced by so much more than just individual choice. It’s where we live, policy at the local and federal levels, our economic status, and so much more.
I love working with people using the intuitive eating model and evidence-based nutrition. Food can be fun, joyful, and a connector to community and culture. I’m not here to restrict or limit you. Nutrition should be about addition, not subtraction. I am here as a guide to help you feel your best- mind and body.
Outside of my love for nutrition and wellness, I love to spend time exploring the city of Philly with my partner Sarah and our dog Tucker. I’m a Utah girl with a love for the mountains who now spends my days exploring city life. I love trying new foods, reading a good book, trying a new coffee shop, or spending time with the people I love <3
1:1 Nutrition Counseling - We’d be a good fit if…
You live in Philadelphia, Illinois, Florida, or Arizona.
You are looking for a non-diet approach to nutrition.
You are not focused on weight loss as a measure of progress. Rather, you are focused on lab markers, decreased stress, and how you feel in your body.
You are looking for a collaborative process. You'll bring your own goals and questions to the table, not just receive one-way education.
You are looking for a provider who practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES) and intuitive eating framework.
You are hoping to rediscover (or discover for the first time) genuine joy around food!
Little Sprouts Program- We’d be a good fit if…
You are looking for a hands-on, interactive extracurricular around food and gardening for your preschool, daycare, or program.
You want kids taste-testing new foods and building the confidence to try things outside their usual favorites. Rather than pressure or a "clean plate" mentality, the focus is on curiosity, exposure, and fun.
You are looking for flexible session lengths, from 30 minutes to a full hour, depending on your program’s schedule.
You are based in or around Philadelphia and want a program brought directly to your classroom.
